The New York City Police Department Unit Citation is awarded annually at the Departments Medal Day Ceremony. It is awarded in recognition of the hard work and dedication of personnel assigned to specific Commands that demonstrated these acts the previous year. Its is a light blue bar with the year of the award in the center in gold numerals. If an officer has been awarded more than one Unit Citation, only one can be worn with the officers breast bars. |
