In addition to the Transit Medal of Honor & Combat Cross Pat has been awarded two Unit
Citations, numerous other Meritorious Police Duty Awards, the "Cop Shot" Medal of Valor, New
York Yankees Foundation Medal of Valor, 1975 “Cop of the Year” by Transit Police Steuben
Association, 1991“Man of the Year” by the Transit Police Emerald Society, 1992 Grand Marshall
for the Transit Police Emerald Society for St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 1994 “Man of the Year: by
the Transit Police Emerald Society Bagpipe Band and in 2002 was Posthumously awarded the
“Humanitarian Award” from the Community Mayors of New York and New Jersey.

December 1, 1965: Appointed Police Officer Transit Police Dept.
1971: Elected Delegate to PBA
1980: Elected Trustee; served four years
1984: Elected to PBA Executive Board as Executive Secretary; later as Recording Secretary; 11
years on Executive Board until Merge; served as Chairman-Treasurer to the PBA Scholarship
Fund; Chairman & Treasurer to the Line-Of-Duty Widows & Children’s Fund; Chairman &
Treasurer to the Retiree’s Benefits, Health and Welfare Fund.

1982: Member of Community Mayors of New York and New Jersey working with Handicapped
Children
1986: Elected Vice Commander of American Legion Post 460 (All Police Post)
1996/1996: President of the NY Shields
1990-2001: Served Deborah Hospital Foundation doing extensive fund raising through the
Foundation’s Special Events and acting as liaison between Deborah and many police groups.
Later became a member of their Deborah’s Board of Trustees
